The ESS workshop on the use of administrative data for social statistics aims at putting together ESS countries' representatives to meet and share methodological knowledge, experiences and best practices regarding the use of administrative data sources for social statistics .
The workshop—organised by Eurostat with the support of DevStat—will be held on the 4 and 5 June 2019 in Valencia, Spain. The ESS workshop will be an opportunity to showcase and exchange the results of the ESS Vision 2020 ADMIN project and to encourage technical discussions on how the ESS should continue to move towards an improved production system for social statistics using administrative data.
Sessions will centre around production infrastructure, administrative data collection, methodology and quality, both for census and for survey-related outputs.
This workshop aims to be an occasion for Member States to present and exchange the results of the progress made in using administrative data for social statistics, in particular but not exclusively in the framework of the ESS.VIP ADMIN project. Statisticians are encouraged to contribute papers discussing their experience or ideas in the use of administrative data providing experience, achievements, examples, practical applications, lessons learned and plans for future developments that they consider worth sharing with other users of administrative data.
